Pryme "Active" is the perfect class for those older adults looking for a challenging cardiovascular and strength workout. With a strong emphasis on aerobic conditioning, agility and balance work and free weight exercises to tone and strengthen, this is a great total body workout that's aimed to get results.

Aquarena's Pryme Movers classes are delivered by fully qualified and experienced older adult instructors. As the specialists in older adult fitness for over 20 years, our classes are safe, fun, low impact and easy to learn. Participants can begin slowly and progress at their own pace, regardless of their current level of fitness or physical ability.

Entertaining music and the friendly support and motivation of a group environment helps make working out social, engaging and fun, whilst ensuring that in the long term participants enjoy all of the important health benefits that come with being physically fit and active.

Pryme "Active" is a great overall body workout and with new moves added every week classes are always engaging, challenging and lots of fun. Fun and laughter are a large component of all our Pryme Mover classes so you leave your workout feeling in great spirits, energised and on top of the world.

Typical Pryme Active class format

Warm up (5 minutes)
Aerobic workout (approximately 20 minutes)
Agility and balance work
Conditioning segment (10 minutes of resistance exercises using hand weights to target legs, chest, back, upper arms, and shoulders)
Abdominal exercises
Stretching
Cool down

How fit do I need to be?

The class is suitable for all participants from beginners to advanced, as all exercises can be modified by each participant at any time and or the class instructor whenever required. If you are coming back from a long break, injury, or illness simply enjoy extra breaks between movements or reduce repetitions or workloads to ensure you stay within a comfortable heart rate workout zone.

What do I need to bring or wear?

Participants are encouraged to wear a pair of walking/jogging shoes, shorts, pants or leggings with a T-shirt on top. Its best to have layers according to the weather conditions then you can take them off as you warm up during the class. A towel and drink bottle are also always a must requirement.

How often should I do an Active Movers class?

When first starting out we recommend a minimum of two classes per week advancing to three with preferable rest days in between. Older adults who are very fit and active will find they have the capability to participate in a Pryme Movers class everyday but we recommend variety in class choices to keep their exercise routines and environments varied, stimulating and fun.
