Running group

Get fit fast in a motivating group environment.

The Aquarena outside running group endeavors to help you improve your aerobic fitness and stamina, assist with weight loss and provide a motivating and friendly group environment through exercise.

Facilitated by experienced and good-humored trainers, the running group is suitable for people of all levels. The group completes various tracks and paths throughout Manningham. The sessions consist of a variety of components including long distance running, sprint work, hills, intervals and fartlek work.

The running group is catered to each individual. The aim is to gradually build up people's stamina through the weekly involvement of the running group. There are 3 levels and each is designed for different capabilities.

The three groups are formed based on current fitness levels and running ability allowing participants to exercise in a group and encourage each other to achieve their fitness goals. The fitness base requirements vary for each group so that participants can work together throughout the one hour session with people of a similar fitness level to complete the various workouts with the trainers. The abilities of the participants are assessed by the qualified trainers and participants are places in the appropriate running group level. The distances travelled within each session vary depending on the group and course selected by the trainers with the various training sessions all planned to be completed within the one hour workout.

The running group is free for gold, gold day and aquatic members. A fee applies for non members which is payable at reception. Participants meet at the entrance to Aquarena, just outside of reception 10 minutes prior to starting time.

Please note that running group classes are not conducted during public holidays.
