"Girls make your move" campaign

Aquarena and other YMCA Managed fitness and aquatic centres across Australia, are partnering with the Federal Government to encourage more young girls to be active by supporting the Department of Health's 'Girls Make Your Move' campaign.

From Saturday 1st April until Friday 30th June 2017, Girls aged 12-19 years can take advantage of 30 days' free access to YMCA managed health and fitness centres.

The initiative is about inspiring girls to find physical activities they enjoy and encouraging them to live a healthier life.

Recent studies show young girls are twice as likely as boys to be inactive and that they experience more barriers preventing them from being as physically active. This lack of regular physical activity can affect their health later in life.

At Aquarena we want to give young women the chance to get active in a safe, supportive and professional environment with fully qualified and caring staff.

It's about inspiring, energising and empowering young women to be more active and reinforcing the many benefits of an active life, whether through recreation, sport or incidental physical activity. It is our hope that girls all over the country will take up this offer and get active.

At the YMCA, we believe in the power of inspired young people and want to provide opportunities for them to be their best. We want to encourage physical activity to be a natural part of young women's lives enjoyed, not endured.

To access the offer please go to australia.gov.au/girlsmove and get moving for free. Just download a voucher, present it at the front desk and start getting fit, active, healthy and well.
