• YMCA swimming lessons provide water safety skills for children of all ages.
  • Please note the centre will close at 6pm on Saturday 30th June and the pools will close 15 minutes before the centre does.

The Y Splash program is a great way for your child to enjoy the water over the school holidays in a fun and educational environment.

Each year the YMCA teaches ten's of thousands of children about water safety and helps them to develop swimming skills.

As the largest provider of aquatic education in Victoria the YMCA has the experience and skill to introduce your child to the fun of swimming and the importance of safety around water.

Splash runs over five 45 minute classes during the school holidays for children aged five to twelve years at YMCA managed aquatic centres across Victoria including Aquarena.

Experienced and qualified YMCA swimming lesson teachers take each class, with a ratio of a maximum of six children per teacher. Each child is enrolled in age and skill appropriate sessions to maximize the learning experience.

Every child who participates in the Y Splash program also receives a special Y Splash certificate.

The program covers water safety and water skills including:

  • Water familiarization
  • Pool rules
  • Water safety rules
  • Safe water entry and exit
  • Skills to float and move in the water
  • Stroke development
  • Treading water
  • Rescues
  • Personal safety skills

Based on the successful YMCA Swimming Lessons program the next dates for Y Splash in 2018 are:

  • Week 1 = Tuesday 3rd April - Friday 6th April
  • Week 2 = Monday 9th April - Friday 13th April.

$77.00 per week per child (pro rata for week 1)
